LAF is a wonderful website that encourages godly women. They have been going strong since 2002 but have recently updated their website. Along with that they have some really great giveaways going on. Click the logo below if you want to check it out. Grab a cup of coffee because you might be there awhile! =)

Have a great night!

Up Close and Personal

Recently we took the kids to the zoo. Last year we got a membership because the kids love to see the animals. The zoo is not in our town but its pretty close. We go once a month or more. Its usually after a doctors appointment for Taylor.

After you have gone to the zoo 3 times it gets kind of boring. I mean I love to see the animals but usually they are sleeping or they are as far away from the window as possible. Of course, right? Who wants to be stared at all day.

On this trip to the zoo we learned a little secret. If you want to see the animals, take a service dog with you. I'm not sure who enjoyed our trip more the zoo animals or Bobo. It wasn't the kids because they were petrified! Really.

At first it was perfectly fine. We saw the penguins. The very cute and innocent penguins.

Then we saw the lemurs.
Bobo was spotted!

Next were the lions. I don't have a picture of this. Probably because we were running for our lives!

So we walk up thinking maybe they would come to the glass. Maybe? Ms. lioness turns to look at us, spots Bobo and runs, jumps the water and slams into the glass. Oh....my....goodness.

If you have never been charged at by a lion you should try it. It had to of burned like 500 calories and my heart was racing way more than when I run 2 miles.

I also wanted to add that there was no one around. So if we were eaten by the lion no one would have known.

We go and find a trainer. We tell her what happened. She didn't seem too concerned. Well the momma in me wants to make sure that they cant get out. Ms. Trainer tells me "it should be fine". It should be fine. We were charged at by a lion and it should be fine. Ok then.

We bypassed the lions and did enjoy the rest of the animals.

The tigers look hungry. =)

SPRING!

Rebecca, a very inspirational lady over at Renaissance, does a photo challenge every week. I follow her blog regularly and was so excited when I realized I can join her challenges now that I have a blog!!

So the word of the week was ~ SPRING.

How fun, huh?

There are so many things that happen around here doing the springtime. Which just happens to be my favorite time of year, by the way. (Now don't hold me to that when Summer comes around or Fall, ok? ok.)

Nothing says Spring like flowers!

Around here we cant wait for a break in the weather to go fishing. Now there are only pictures of Alyssa and Carter because Taylor hates to fish. She would rather be cruising around in her wheelchair and Morgan was too busy this day playing in the water. She likes to put her pole in the water and play until she gets a fish.

Pregnant cats! Here on our funny farm...which really is no farm at all....has pregnant cats every Spring.

Here is our Spring Nature Table.

No Spring day would be complete without cooking on the grill!

I took all of these pictures yesterday afternoon. (Except for the fishing pictures.) Hopefully, next week I will have time to be more creative but it sure was fun!

The Fun of Homeschooling

I could go on all day about why I love to homeschool. From seeing my childrens faces when they learn to read to taking them to the zoo when everyone else is in school. :)

There are also many reasons why my children love to be homeschooled. Which they do usually tell me everyday.

Examples I have heard over the years include:
~Spending time with their mom (Carter just said this to me today!)
~Not having to do homework. :)
~Field Trips
~Crafts
~Reading a lot of books
~Being able to play outside at ten in the morning and ten at night. Hehehehe
Disclaimer...We do have a schedule but we are flexible. :P

Oh and what 7 year old boy would not just love to do his writing after he has just disarmed a bomb in Iraq? (His uncle served 18 months in Iraq and he is a very proud nephew)

Or what little girl would not love to be tending to her horses on the ranch and doing school at the same time?

On a new adventure

Here I am....blogging. I have tried this before but never followed through. I had great intentions. Really, I did. I must say I think life took over and well.....the rest is history.

So here I am again. (Isn't there a happy face waving on here somewhere!) Anyway, I am hoping to share some glimpses into my life for the whole world to see. That could be scary but I am looking at it like an adventure. If you know me you know I love adventure. ;)

I named my blog Memories by Miranda for a few reasons. 1. I thought it had a nice ring to it. What do you think? 2. I love making, remembering and reminiscing about memories. 3. It was the only thing that wasn't taken. :)

Birthday Celebration

We had a beautiful weekend here in Northeast Ohio. Spring has sprung! It was the perfect weather to celebrate Ms. Taylors birthday. She turned 12. It is hard for me to even write that I have a daughter that old. I guess I should have know it would happen some day, right?

All she keeps talking about is that next year she is going to be a teenager. Then I will cry. Really, I will. Maybe it's a mommy thing. Maybe it's because I am extremely emotional. Maybe it's because that means I am officially getting old. Anyway you look at it, it's going to be hard for this momma.

Since I will have no way to get around the big 13, I decided to not have a big party this year. We will wait for the big one next year. Taylor told me she wanted to do something as a family. So that is what we did. Instead of having a party we went to both sets of grandparents and then had a family outing. I think I should have just stuck with one celebration!

It did make for a fun week for her.

First stop was to see Nana and Papa.
Taylor enjoyed daddy helping her to play the Wii.

Then we had cake!

Here is Taylor blowing out the candles.

Then Taylor got lovin from her favorite Papa.
Next stop was to visit Grandma and Grandpa.

Taylor is loving icing the cake all by herself.

Last but not least we had our family outing. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 75 degrees. Perfect for the lake.

Taylor had a blast walking Bobo

Going down the slide

Walking Bobo

Swinging with mommy

And of course, walking Bobo!

CAUTION, Here comes trouble! ;)

I think they both had a long day.

Taylor even got to do her most favorite thing in the whole world this week.

BABYSIT!
