5 Fact Friday ~ October 5th

So its Friday again. I can not believe that the first week of October is almost over. I have so many things that I want to do this month! Now I only have 3 weeks left. I better get movin. ;)

Here we go, 5 facts.....

1. It is absolutely pitiful but I have not even picked up my camera all week! If you know me at all you know that that is unbelievable. I'm going to have to do something about that. I see Fall pictures happening soon. Real soon. I wonder if hubby will choose pictures over his tree stand this weekend? Hmm....

2. Homeschooling is HARD this year. On me not the kids. We have had fun so far this year but man....there is so much work. Haha!

3. I am making salsa tonight. YUM! I can not keep this stuff in the house. My husband has it gone practically as soon as I get it made. Maybe I will hide it and only bring it out on special occasions. I would give you the recipe but its a secret. That's not nice, is it?!

4. I've been asked to do senior pictures for my cousin. I'm a bit nervous but super excited! I did senior pictures for my twin sisters this year but I could boss them around. They are my sisters, ya know! This will be a bit different but it will be nothing to get him to smile. Hes super adorable! I have been scouring Pinterest to get ideas for senior pictures for guys! The only male species I have ever taken pictures of are my son and husband. This should be interesting.

Well I guess there are all those pictures of my brother. And my dad. And my grandpa. Ok maybe it won't be so difficult.

5. I have never in my life been so frustrated with a doctor than I am right now. My oldest daughter, Taylor, had a neuropsychological evaluation done a few weeks ago. Basically, it was supposed to tell us HOW she learns. At least, that is what we were told. I read the report yesterday and the doctor said "Taylor refused any break during testing due to the fact that she wanted to get the test done and go home." Taylor may be 14 but the whole point of the test is because her mind does not work like it should. So why in the world would they ask HER if she wanted a break!?

A 6 1/2 hour test in a small room, no windows, no moving around (because she can not physically move her body once in her wheelchair), no drink, no air. Hmmm.....I can probably guess that NO ONE would do very well under these circumstances. So the test was a bust. She scored very low on most of the test. Especially toward the end. Which was memory. Which makes no sense because her memory is annoyingly fantastic.

AND I'm going to give you 6 because that last one was a downer and who wants to leave a blog post feeling blah? Not I, said the angry momma.

6. Jillian Michael literally kicked my rump! I started the 30 day shred yesterday. I woke up today and EVERY SINGLE muscle in my body hurts! Really. I hurt in places I didn't even know I had muscles! I look like a little old lady when I squat down and try to pick something up. This should make errand day quite interesting. I also have to keep this on the down low because if my husband finds out he will follow me around and poke me ALL DAY LONG and ask "does that hurt".

Have a great weekend!

You're a brave soul doing that shred thing.  I've heard so many horror stories, I don't dare attempt it for fear I would trip over my own feet!

I've heard that 30 day shred is a toughy!

It's tough being a mom a teacher and a wife. I have lots of friends that have home schooled their kids. And some still are. Ps. I haven't taken any pics in a week either...

Hi, Miranda! Visiting you from ROY. I love the Five Facts feature and have thoroughly enjoyed reading yours! So sorry about your daughter's experience ... and your muscles ... though they're worlds apart in importance. I did not home school but have thought many times how very challenging it must be. Good work!
