December Daily ~ Day 28

We went on a photo run today. If you are not familiar with my routine photo runs, that is where I don't feel like cleaning mean we just feel like getting out of the house and we drive around snapping pictures of anything that strikes our fancy and we sing as loud as we want to some great "singing songs".

Today was kind of a spur of the moment, if we have to stay in the house one more second, I'm going to go insane kind of a moment. The whole house is still sick. My house is still on the mend from Christmas. I still have an infected face. You know all kinds of fun stuff going on.

All the kids were game when I announced a photo run. As long as they didn't have to be in any pictures. Ha. It was a deal.

I only got us stuck in the snow once!

We didn't stay out long because they are all sick but it did feel good to get some fresh air.

December Daily ~ Day 27

Snow, Snow and more Snow.
We finally got our first real snow of the season. Yesterday actually, but I would not let the kids go out then. Even today, I probably shouldn't have because their cold is still lingering. Tay had to stay in though because she is still feeling really yucky.

I am playing around with my camera a lot lately. Some shots I'm happy with and some I'm not. I wish I had all the time in the world to just learn everything I need to know but I'm just too busy for that. So a little here and a little there is just how it has to be.

As you can tell, the kids had a blast. I just wanted to stay inside and drink hot chocolate. I'm not usually a baby when I don't feel good but I still don't have much energy. So I would run out and take a few pictures and then back inside for me.

December Daily ~ Merry Christmas (day 25)

Merry Christmas!

What a merry Christmas is was. I just love Christmas time and this year was no exception.

The kids were up bright and early. Of course, we wouldn't expect it any other way.

Bobo got the privilege of starting us out.

Then the kids wanted mommy and daddy to open the presents they made/bought. I love their heart. I love that they are MORE excited to see our reactions than to open their own presents.

They can be quite creative.
Then the kids opened presents that they made each other.
Finally, presents from mommy and daddy!

This year, I got Brian a muzzle loader. He has been eyeing one for years! He was a tab bit excited.

Brian got me a new lens for my camera! Yay! Exactly what I wanted. There are no pictures of me opening it because he gave it to me early so I could use it. He did however wrap the box. Along with 200 dollars to go in my "upgrade camera" fund. He is such a sweetheart.

Time for stockings!

We have a few Christmas day traditions. When the kids were little we would always run from one house to the other. A few years back, Brian decided we would start staying home all day. I'm so glad I followed his lead on that one! It is so nice to stay home and enjoy the whole day with the kids.

Most of our Christmas Day traditions involve food. Ha!

First up, a BIG breakfast! After all the presents are open, the kids and daddy tackle the living room so that Ms. Taylor can drive around the house without having to dodge presents and wrapping paper and I start the food.

We don't usually end up eating until about 10 or so. I always have trail and cheese (another favorite!) out so everyone can snack when they want.

We spend the whole day together. Playing with new toys. Learning how to use new toys! Playing games. I just love it! No where to go. Nothing to do.

I had fun playing around with my new lens. :)

Thanks for sharing a glimpse into our day. I hope your Christmas was a very blessed one!

December Daily ~ Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is filled with traditions.

First, we go to my moms and enjoy food and presents.

Then we spend the evening at home. The kids get to open 2 presents. PJs and a game.

This year all the girls wanted footed pajamas. Love that! They all looked so cute.

The game was Settlers of Catan. I have wanted to get this game for them for years. We finally bought it this year. It was a huge hit. It took us a little to get through the directions but now that everyone understands they play it all the time.

After the kids were in bed, Brian and I stay up late and wrap presents and fill stockings. I love this time and look forward to it every year.
