5 on Friday ~ March 29th

1. We are going to look at a house today and I am pretty excited about it. It is actually completely opposite of what we are looking for but it fits some of our needs. We have been looking to move closer to Brian's work for over a year. It is only 3 minutes away. Yep, that close.

2. I drink Dr. Pepper like most drink coffee.

3. I do not talk much about Taylor, her disability and how it effects me. I do have a little story to tell though and I will have to give a bit of past information.

Taylor is a very happy little girl. She always has a smile on her face and people talk about how happy she is all the time. Unfortunately, she is not like this with everyone. Me. I have been told that it is just because I am "mom". It gets really hard sometimes. She will laugh and talk about this person or that and will be very cold to me. As hurtful as it is, I try not to take it personal. Well last night when I laid her down for bed she asked me for a hug. Say, what? Then she asked me to lay with her and sing her a song. Talk about warming my momma heart. I needed that.

4. I went blond. Ok not completely but I jump up a bit in my highlights. Pictures soon. Maybe.

5. He can make my laundry soap any day!

Even if he does leave a huge mess behind!

Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real

We had a beautiful weekend and took advantage of it. We love to be outside so a little bit of warm weather and that is where we end up.

All of my pictures this week are from our hike.

Pretty:

This little guy was the ornery one out of the group.

I love taking pictures of nature. Can you tell? It brings me so much joy. How awesome is it to be able to capture Gods love in a photograph?!

Happy:

How could I not be happy when I'm married to such a hunk! ;)

Funny:
 Always climbing trees

Speed Racer
Real:

It is impossible for this homeschooling family to go out and not be learning in some way! That is as real as it gets around here.

New Look, New Name

If you are looking for Memories By Miranda, you are in the right spot. Memories By Miranda is now The Pebble Pond. I am so excited about the new name and the new look! What do you think?

I have been wanting to change the name for a long time but I never took the time to think of a new one. Well last week I told Brian and together we have been wracking our brains trying to come up with something. There were 2 reasons I wanted it changed. Number 1, it is not very original. There are others with the exact same name and even more very close to it. Number 2, I wanted something with meaning. Heart felt meaning.

After a week of dead ends, The Pebble Pond was born! It is original. Well as original as you can get with millions of blogs out there. Most important....it has meaning!

For the last 15 years, whenever we do something as a family or have a special moment, Brian finds a rock or pebble to give to me as a keepsake. Carter does this too now. (I have quite the collection!) Digging deeper my wonderful grandpa used to do the same thing for my grandma.

My blog is a place where I share my life. Our memories as a family. A journal of sorts. I try (and I'm going to try even harder) to capture our life through pictures. My desire is that my children will know the love of God and my love for them on a daily basis and I use my blog as a way to record those memories.

Our memories are like pebbles. Pebbles that are carried with us just like the ones I am given. As we laugh. As we play. As we read. As we live. Everything we do will be a memory. Either a good one or a bad one. My hope is that the good memories will far out way the bad when my children look back on their lives. My blog is the pond where all those memories can be recorded. Every good memory (pebble) we toss in the pond will be special and important. Even though my kids will not remember everything that I do, they will know how I made them feel.

So that is the story behind the name, The Pebble Pond. I hope you will follow along with our journey. You can subscribe in the left hand column using Google Friend Connect or Bloglovin.

I'm excited to get some spring pictures soon and then I will be able to update the header. I have all kinds of ideas running through my head and it makes me giddy. :)

5 Fact Friday ~ March 22

What a week! I can not believe its Friday already. This week has flown by. We all got sick and that was just miserable. We are finally on the mend and all is starting to be normal again in the Hupp house.

So here's to another 5 Facts.....

1. I have been really hurt and am having such a hard time processing it. I usually am great at putting my feelings on the back burner and not even thinking about it. Not so much lately. Blah.

2. I looked through an old photo album last night and guess what? I cried. My babies are growing up. I love all their stages of life. Right now, we can do so much together and I love it but I have to admit I feel sad that so many "stages" are behind us.

3. I decided I am going to get caught up on my Project Life album. I kind of put it off but I love it so much that I am going to make myself stick to it.

4. I have so much to look forward over the next week. Easter with my family. My grandpas 80th birthday. Planting seeds. Taylor's Birthday party. I'm excited!

5. I bought myself a new pan for canning and a new pie pan. They both made my day. :)

Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real

Pretty:
(Please don't mind my blurry camera photo. Unfortunately, the flu hit our house this week and so my camera did not get picked up very much. Everyone is finally on the mend and I think things will be back to normal soon!)

My girls are oh so pretty! At times these two can seem worlds apart and other times they are best friends. I love moments like this.

Happy:

We got a really good deal on apples last week from a friend. It felt kind of weird canning with snow on the ground. Usually its hot and sunny when our canning happens. I am not complaining though! It just got me even more excited for canning season.

Funny:
If you have been following my blog since the beginning of the year, you know that I am trying to challenge myself using my camera. I kind of made myself a commitment to join in on a year long once a month photo challenge. Her challenges are different and not ordinary in anyway. Its been really fun!

Morgan helped me with this months challenge, Go Green. Above is an outtake that cracks me up every time I see it.

Here is the photo I used. See what I mean? Different, huh? Totally different than my personal style but the more I do the challenges the more I have been able to kind of weave my own personal style into her textures and challenges. I have also learned a lot!

Real:

Real is the fact that I have been a bit difficult to handle the past few weeks. Grumpy, I guess. Moody, maybe? Cranky. Selfish. Yeah, all of the above.

This was my peace offering to my dear husband for having to deal with me.
It worked! Bonus....I also gave him lots of kisses! ;)

5 Fact Friday ~ March 15

Its that time again....

1. I have really been enjoying Jessica Drossins monthly photo challenge. This month the theme was "Go Green". Morgan was excited to help. She was so much fun. I love that they love my love for photography. :)

2. I am loving technology right now! Although I definitely enjoy my life being "simple", I am in LOVE with Skype. Germany doesn't seem nearly as far away.

3. I have been in a snacking mood lately! My normal routine includes no breakfast, small lunch, big dinner, no snacks. Lately its more like no breakfast, snack, small lunch, big dinner, snack, snack. Horrible, I know.

4. I am making chicken noodle soup today. You know what that means???? A sickie? How about 4 sickies! Alyssa, Taylor, Morgan and ME.....How weird is it that we were fine yesterday and we all woke up sick today?! Fever, belly aches, headache, terrible sore throat. Yucky!

5.We sponsored a child through Compassion International last night. We are so excited. His name is Otok Walter. It was sad looking at all those little faces. Who do you pick? It was pretty neat though when we came across his picture we all agreed right away that he was the one! Its so neat how God works.

Well that's all for this week but here is more pictures from out little "green" photo shoot.
