Chats on the Farmhouse Porch ~ August 6th

1. Have you ever baked bread from scratch? Yes, and I love doing it! Now if I just had a lot of extra time.

Everyday Ruralty2. If we decided to have lunch on the porch, and you so kindly volunteered to fix it (thank you). What would you serve?  Homemade bread, of course! And lemonade. Lots of lemonade.

3. Show us, or tell us about your key chain ( the thing you have on your car or house keys). I have 2 key chains. Ohio State ~ given to me by my step-mom just because. Mohican State Park ~ bought on a camping trip.

4. Have you ever tried a challenging or dangerous sport? No. I don't mean rush hour traffic, but I understand the confusion. :) Well raising a boy can be quite challenging but as far as a sport, nope. I am a pretty adventurous person and I have always been the first one to try something new. Becoming a mom really young snapped me into responsibility before I did something too stupid.

5. Have you ever written poetry? If not, have you ever had anyone write a poem for you? If you aren't happy with this question, we'll even accept a "Roses are red..." poem. Never. Well I shouldn't say never because I think every teenage girl has tried at some point but nothing worth actually telling you all about.

Yes, it is a weed but isn't it perttty!?

Your weed is indeed pretty! I've nurtured a plant that was in the front porch flower bed all summer. I think it's pretty. One of my neighbors told me last week that it was just a weed. *sigh* What on earth will she think when she realizes I planted rainbow Swiss chard in the flower bed?

Love your answer to #4. And your weed is pretty. Some of the prettiest pictures I have taken have been weeds. :)

I love homemade bread with real butter. Lemonade sounds refreshing.

I love fresh baked bread, but it does take a bunch of time. So does the canning that is my main activity lately.

I love the A. A. Milne quote that Becky posted up there. I used to think that Queen Anne's Lace was an ugly weed, until a few years ago when I had the opportunity to examine it more closely. It is really a beautiful flower, just as the "weed" that you posted above is. :)
