Brian and I went for a hike this evening. Just the 2 of us!
I didn't take my camera but I couldn't help but pull out my phone a few times. :)

1. I am ever so grateful for everyone that read, commented and shared this post. Wow. Wow. Wow. You guys rock!

2. We have had a doctors appointment every.single.day. this week. So glad it is over.

3. I am in love with the weather we are having. Warm afternoons, cool evening, beautiful sunsets. Love it!

4. Umm....I could barely button my jeans today. We have only inched into baking season! I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I have apple pie, apple butter and comfort food to eat!

5. We have missed church for over a month. One thing after another. Then its gets to be easier to NOT go than to go. I've already started getting church clothes ready for this Sunday! Yep, we are not missing. I don't care if we are all sick. Okay, maybe I do but you get the idea. :)

Have a GREAT weekend!

You may blush. Sorry ahead of time.

We are not regulars to the mall. Actually I LOVE shopping but I avoid the mall at all costs. When Brian and I first got married we used to go to the mall for "something to do". Ha! I can not remember the last time Brian stepped foot in there and I think he would rather have his teeth pulled.

I never really sat down to figure out the exacts to why but I can promise it has something to do with all the half naked people and posters that line the WHOLE place. It might also have to do with the style of clothes. Ugh. Why do they insist on making such ugly, revealing, hello-I-am-trying-to-look-like-a-hooker style clothing. Well I should be fair, they also have an elderly section and truth be told....I think I would rather wear that stuff. Last, I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS leave with a case of the "wants". Yep, you know that feeling, right? The super adorable boots that were on display were totally calling my name. I heard them..thankyouverymuch.

Well I have a wedding to attend this weekend. No clothes in my closet. Brian would disagree but we women know the dilemma. So off to the mall we went....pit stop at the Goodwill first, of course.

Now this post is not actually about the fact that I still have nothing to wear but more about what I saw there. Normally on this here blog of mine, I post super cute pictures of my kids or one of our many life adventures. Today I decided to shake things up a bit. It may not mean a thing to another soul on this planet but I have to say it. I have to try and let my heart be heard.
~~~~~
Young Ladies.
My heart completely breaks when I see girls dress and carry themselves in a disgraceful way. These girls are BEAUTIFUL. They really are. The problem....THEY DON"T KNOW IT!
I remember those days. I know what they are feeling. I GET IT!
I have thought about this post all day. I mean really, I would not have listened to a word any person said about my attitude or their idea of what a "lady" should or should not be. So I am not even going to go there. BUT I kind of feel like I have a few secrets. Secrets that need to be shared.
So I am going to share these with you and be a bit open and vulnerable. Why? Because if ONE person can take these to heart, it will be worth it.
Secret #1. You may have a great body. You may be hot stuff at 16 or 35 but you do not need to show everyone to prove it. Turning heads does NOT mean you look great. You may be stunning or you may have  a whole lot of skin showing or tight clothes on and any pervert within a hundred miles can see it. On the other note, any God fearing man can also see it. Any woman can see it. Any child can see it. You are special without having to turn heads.
Secret #2. The guy that is looking you up and down is disgusting. Really. Any REAL man WILL notice that you look good but he will not drool, hoot and holler or break his neck looking at you. That annoying, obnoxious, immature attitude only proves that he is also looking at every OTHER female too! It means he will not be the man you want your son to grow to be. It does not mean you are special. It means you will be treated like you are a dime a dozen.
Secret #3. Sex is good. I have been married for 15 years. I am a 33 year old, God fearing woman and I LOVE sex. Love everything about it. Yep, I said it. I told you I was going to be honest, didn't I? I can PROMISE you that sex in a loving, committed marriage is beyond amazing. It does not even come close to comparing to what is happening with the above guy in secret #2. Trust me.
Secret #4. Its okay to wait. Its okay to be a lady. Those people that you are trying to impress right now, trying to fit in with, they will mean absolutely nothing to you one day. The only thing you will feel about them, is regret and if you are like me...hurt.
Secret #5. You know those guys that are kind of quiet. They have a sweet demeanor but you would never give them the time a day because they are geeks...yeah well, they grow up to be HOT! Take my advice, wait...save yourself...respect yourself...let them mature into men.
Secret #6. What you feel and what you think you want, will change. It will. It may not feel like it now but the day will come.
Secret #7. Your looks and your body will fade. No matter how hard you try. No matter what you eat or don't eat. It will happen. Way faster than you ever thought it would! If you spend you life focused on the next fad or staying fit to the extreme, life will pass you by. Be more than that. Be funny. Be smart. Be more than just the girl with the nice body. Smile. Spending time serving others WILL make you feel better about yourself, your future and will attract that geeky guy we were talking about. ;)
Ahhh...I said it. I feel better now. I'm sorry if you are thinking.."I thought this blog was all about family life, gardening and homeschooling! Who is this crazy lady?!" I just had to say it. I'm going to step down off my soap box and turn off my computer before I decide to erase it all and post adorable pictures of my kids.
The Pebble Pond
I'm kind of at a loss for words this round. I think my brain needs a refresh button! I can't even remember my week! Hmmm...this should be interesting.
1. We started Mystery of History this week. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
2. My garden is finally done for the year. I picked it clean yesterday. A little bummed. I love looking out my kitchen window and seeing its beauty! I did think about planting a fall garden but me thinks I should focus on school instead.
3. I have another wedding this weekend. This time no picture taking. I just get to enjoy. My step mom and I are making a date of it. Just the two of us. I can't wait! Now to find something to wear. What is proper wedding attire these days?
4. My back is MUCH better. Wow, that was rough. I have to start being diligent about exercise and making sure that I am lifting Taylor correctly so that I can still be lifting Taylor in years to come. It is a must.
5. I am loving peanut butter cookies right now! Here is the recipe I have been using. The only difference...I don't put them in the fridge for 3 hours. Nope, we cook them right away! Delicious!
