Oh Baby....

I got to experience one of the most amazing nights of my life on Sunday night! Seriously. I got to take pictures of a labor and delivery! Umm, yeah. Awesome.

I can not even express how much fun the whole night was. I got to the hospital around 8:30 on Sunday evening and got home at 4:30 on Monday morning. Just in time for Brian to get ready for work. Monday was a bit rough but totally worth it.

Obviously, having my own babies was a wonderful, amazing experience but being able to actually witness it. Wow. It was an amazing experience to have someone trust in me so much to be a part of their special moment. Then to actually capture all of it! Words can not even express.

WARNING!
This is your official warning that from here on out is pictures of a LABOR and DELIVER. No *personal parts* are shown but.....it is what it is. Be warned.

If you continue and are offended...it's not my fault!  :)

The kids were very anxious to get their hands on the baby. So I slept for a few hours, got showered and out the door we went.

Welcome to the world little Joseph William. You are very loved!

And a special thanks to the whole family for letting me be a part of such a special moment.

(Now I need to work on the getting one to TAKE home with ME!)

OKay, that was mean and cruel of you. :-)

No seriously- did you know it is one of my dreams (that probably won't ever happen but a dream anyway) to be a birth photographer?!?! I have put the word out to everyone I know that I would happily take free birth pictures of their labor and delivery if only they let me--and they all look at me like I am insane. I might be- but I just love the raw emotion that such a miraculous event evokes. Birth. It is incredible!

You got some extraordinary shots- I love the color one of Mama and baby up close. SWOON.
And the first black and white one where you are at the Mama's head looking down where all the action is. Incredible!

GO MIRANDA!
