I have been making some changes and loving the results.
Usually I would be telling you about homeschool changes or changes in our routine or cleaning schedule but this is a bit more personal.
~ Working Out. I have been doing weight lifting 2-3 times a week. I do a mix of exercises on the Total Gym and free weights. I was jogging 4-5 times a week but recently I started sprinting. I like it. I didn't think I would but I can feel it working my WHOLE body. I have only worked up to about 4/50 meter sprints because my body is so sore the next day. It is a good sore though. So the plan is to jog 2 times a week and do sprints 4 times a week. We'll see how that goes.
When I do the actual weight training, I have been doing upper body Tuesdays and Thursday. Lower body Wednesdays and Fridays. Squats every day. Finally worked myself up to 50 squats at a time with 10 lb. weight BEFORE I started the sprints. Now my legs are too sore to do that many. So I do 3 sets of 20.
I also do an ab challenge that I found on Facebook. Everyday. It kills me.
~ Taking a multivitamin. This vitamin has some kicks! I must have been missing something essential because as soon as I started taking it, I felt like me again! It was so weird. I didn't even know I was gone. I've had so much energy. I realize it does have some caffeine in it but it does not make me jittery. I have been taking them since last Saturday. I have had moments of sleepiness or maybe just being worn out but they were just normal feelings instead of feeling like I was dragging all day. I simply love them.
I bought mine half off for $10 on the GNC website. They are now $20. Totally worth is in my book but I have been told they go on sale 4-5 times a year so just be on the look out if you want to buy them half off.
~ Dry Brushing. I wish I could do this EVERY day but I simply do not have the time. I started dry brushing a week ago. My skin feels so much better. I have noticed a change in the appearance of cellulite on my legs. Which is pretty awesome if I do say so myself!
You can buy a brush for this at any health food store. The long handle ones work better to get hard to reach spots. Like your back.
I start at my ankles/feet. Always do it on dry skin. I brush in strokes, focusing on one area at a time. They say to do it toward your heart. This website explains the why's and what's WONDERFULLY!
~ Epsom Salt Bath. Really there is nothing better than this bath after dry brushing. Ahhh....
I fill up the tub, add 2 cups of salt and a squirt of Apricot Oil. Soak for 15 minutes. Step out feeling like a million bucks! Here is an good explanation. Only difference, I only soak for 15 minutes.
~ Homemade Body Wrap.
Yes, you heard me right. It gets even weirder.
- I coat my belly in coconut oil
- Wrap in plastic wrap for 6 hours
- Take off plastic wrap
- Wash belly
- Stare in amazement at the results because it seems so weird. LOL!
~ Homemade Face Mask
I have blogged about this before. I kind of got away from doing it but I started back up and swore I would never stop! My face feels and looks so much better when I am done!
Here is the facemask details
So as you can tell, I usually jump into things. I am not a take-it-slow kind of person. Maybe that is why I married my husband 4 months after we started dating! ;)
I would not share all this with you if I did not love the results. It is all pretty cheap and so easy to add into your routine. I might break it down a bit better in the future. If you want me to. Maybe if I get the nerve I will even add before and after pictures.
